Girls Lacrosse vs. Irondale

Two games into the regular season, St. Louis Park’s Carley Rosen has been keeping opposing goalkeepers busy and tonight was no exception for the Oriole sophomore as she scored four goals and assisted on another to lead the Orioles to a 9-8 win over the Irondale Knights on a chilly Thursday night at the St. Louis Park High School stadium.

Rosen has scored seven goals in two games, including a hat trick last night against Minnehaha Academy. Her first goal came on a pass from Hannah Erickson followed by Carey Hoppmann’s slot shot. Then it was Rosen who scored on an assist from Tasha Liberman before getting the hat trick two minutes later.

The Knights ended the Orioles four goal run as Gina McDonald scored from the right side. Erickson scored the Orioles fifth goal on Rosen’s lone assist of the game and irondle added another goal.

In the second half, the Orioles added four goals to their ledger as Rosen, Liberman, Erickson and Julia Schroeder found the net. The Knights countered with six goals, including two from Janelle Lawrence but Rosen’s smart speed and stickhandling took valuable time off the clock to keep St. Louis Park on the plus side of the scoreboard.

The win was the third straight for St. Louis Park, all at home. Irondale fell to 0-3.The Orioles wrap up their four game home stand on Tuesday, April 22 against their city rival Benilde-St. Margaret’s
