Storm Players Receive Postseason Accolades
Five Storm players recently were nominated and participated in the Select 15 tryout process held to pick some of the state’s top 1993 birth year players. Players making ‘the cut’ then go to a tryout camp in Saint Cloud and, if they make it past a final cut they will go to the USA Hockey National Training Development Program to play the top 1993’s from around the country.
St. Louis Park residents Dominic Burg and Wes Iverson joined Minneapolis residents Conor Andrle, Chico Hardacker, and Luke Norgarrd and participated in the first round, with Andrle and Hardacker advancing to Saint Cloud.
Three players were nominated to participate in the Preview Challenge Cup, a tournament run to showcase the top Bantam B’s in the state. St. Louis Park resident Nick Omodt played for the 1st Year South Bantam B squad with Minneapolis residents Mack Saunders and Anders Jecha playing on the 2nd Year South Bantam B squad. Omodt was named ‘All Tournament’ defensemen and Jecha received two game MVP awards for his goaltending. Jecha has also been asked to tryout for the Premier ’94s, a process similar to the Select 15 program for players born in 1994.
Congrats to all these Storm players for their outstanding efforts.
*Editors Note: All these young men played for the combined St. Louis Park-Minneapolis Storm teams over the winter. Of course, if you subscribed to this site you’d already know that!
