JV vs. Spring Lake Park
Park swept a strong Spring Lake Park club, 8-3 and 1 0, in two 5 inning games.
In the opener, Park scored four in the 3rd and four in the 4th, with the key blows being a 2-RBI single by Isaac Ziman, an RBI-single by Cameron Dressen, and an RBI single by Hans Bower.
Ziman led Park’s hitting with a 2 for 3 performance, Dressen, Bower, and Bessasie each collected one safety.
Alex Peterson started for Park and pitched three strong innings, only two of them earned, followed by Renzo Jara who allowed one unearned run.
The second game was a pitcher’s duel, with neither team hitting the ball very hard off the fine pitching.
Nadav Karasov started for Park and pitched three scoreless innings. In the bottom of the second, Park’s Ziman scored on the front end of a double-steal to give Park a 1-0 lead.
Travis Gohman relieved in the fourth and struck out the first batter, hit the second, got the third batter to roll out to the mound, then struck out the
fourth batter with the tying run on third base (he had advanced on the ground out, and stolen third).
In the bottom of the fourth, Ethan Bohn was stranded after singling to right with two outs, and Gohman took the mound again with a one-run lead.
Gohman got the first batter on strikes, got the second batter to ground back to the mound, then struck out the last batter with a well-placed straight-change to end the game.
