Freshmen vs. Totino Grace
Park lost a sloppy game Friday afternoon, 16-9, and ended their 7-game winning streak.
Derrick Keller started on the mound and didn’t have his best stuff, and, combined with mediocre fielding by the defense, Totino took a 9-1 lead in the third.
Park clawed back, and came within one, 9-8, before the defense completely collapsed with Ben Gibbs pitching, and five unearned runs were scored.
Highlights were few and far between, but John Gallice continued his hot hitting with two hits, Christian Erickson got two of his own, and Keller and Bobby Otto each had one–that was it!
Defensively, about the only highlight I can think of was a fine sliding catch by first baseman Dylan Vosika to snag a foul pop-up.
Tomorrow we’ll find out how well Park bounces back after a loss when they take on DeLasalle in a doubleheader.
